Professor Dr Prasanta Kumar Mitra is HOD of Dept of Medical Biotechnology at Sikkim Manipal University. On 1st February, 2014, at a function in New Delhi, Prof (Dr) Prasanta Kumar Mitra, HOD, Department of Medical Biotechnology, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok, Sikkim was awarded the RAJIV GANDHI EXCELLENCE AWARD. He received it for academic excellence and work for popularization of science in society by the Indian solidarity council, New Delhi, India.
