Dr.Peng Huang is currently a Professor with joint appointment as a Principal Investigator in State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC). Dr. Huang received his medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University School of Medicine in 1982 and his Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Texas-Houston in 1990. He joined the faculty of University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as an Assistant Professor in 1995, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2001, and became a Professor with tenure at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2007. Dr Huang was honored as a Chang Jiang Visiting Professor in SYSUCC by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2008, and elected as a member of the “Thousand Talents Program” in 2010.

Dr. Huang’s research focuses on cancer metabolism and oxidative stress, anticancer agents, and experimental cancer therapeutics. He has made significant discoveries in the area of redox alterations in cancer cells, leukemia-stromal cells interactions, elevated glycolysis in tumor cells, and novel therapeutic strategies and new anticancer agents. Dr. Huang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed research articles in high-impact journals including Nature, Cell, Cancer Cell, Natural Review Drug Discovery, Nature Cell Biology, JNCI, EMBO J, J Cell Biology, Blood, and Cancer Research.

Rajendra Sharma is a Research Associate Professor in Molecular Biology and Immunology, University of North Texas. He he was a Research fellow, Rajasthan University, Jaipur, India (1975-1979). Chemoprevention of Cancer by natural products: These studies are focused on the role of lipid peroxidation in the mechanisms of cancer prevention and cell killing by sulforaphane, curcumin and Withaferin A.

Nira Ben-Jonathan, Professor of Cancer and Cell Biology, received her undergraduate degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Illinois. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas and a faculty member in the Department of Physiology at the Indiana University Medical School; she joined the University of Cincinnati as Professor in 1992

Dr. Masahiro Hiraoka, Directing Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Image Applied Therapy, is a pioneer in the development of 1oco-regional cancer therapy, especially 3D conformal beam radiotherapy. His specialties include stereotactic radiotherapy for the treatment of solitary pulmonary tumors, IMRT for treating prostate cancer, and other 3D conformal beam radiotherapies.
