Theme: Form a cancer free globe
Asia Pacific Oncologists 2016
ConferenceSeries Ltd invites all the participants across the globe to attend the “13th Asia-Pacific Oncologists Annual Meeting” slated on October 17-19, 2016 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Asia-Pacific Oncologists is a global platform to discuss and learn about Cancer Pathways, Neuro Oncology, Oral Cancer, Skin cancer, Blood and Bone Cancer, Lung cancer, renal cancer, Breast Cancer, Pancreatic and colorectal cancer, Reproductive Cancers, Cancer Therapy and Scenario of Cancer.
Track 1: Pathophysiology of Cancer :
Cancer is disease of regulation of tissue growth. In order for a normal cell cancer cell transformation, genes which regulate cell growth and differentiation must be altered. Theories about Cancer include Cancer Cellular transformation and Cancer Derangement theory and Failure of the Immune Response Theory.
A cancer biology study explains the microenvironment, metastasis, angiogenesis, apoptosis, transcription, invasion, suppression of tumor genes, oncogenes, cancer stem cells, conflict to therapy and modelling of tumor. Understanding the Cancer genome may also help a doctor select the best treatment for individual patient. Before cancer cells form in tissues of the body, the cells go through abnormal changes called hyperplasia and dysplasia. In dysplasia, the cells look abnormal under a microscope but are not cancer. Hyperplasia and dysplasia may or may not become cancer.

Wilms tumors are the chief cancers in kids that jump in the kidneys. Most Wilms tumors are unilateral, which means they disturb only one kidney. Most repeatedly there is only one tumor, but 5 – 10 % of children with Wilms tumors have extra one tumor in the similar kidney. About 5% of offsprings with Wilms tumors have bilateral disease, tumors in both kidneys. Clear cell sarcoma in the kidney spreads to other portions of the body which is hard to cure.
Tumor Nodes Metastasis based on three components: Tumor designates size of a specific tumor. Lymph node indicates the cancer had spread to the near lymph nodes and metastasis whether the cancer has spread to distinct organs.

Benign conditions and tumors are not cancerous. But in some cases, changes to breast cells can origin breast cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is a disease in which malignant cells form in the tissues of the pancreas. It regulates blood sugar levels. Exocrine cells produce the digestive juices; while endocrine pancreas cells produce the hormones majorly cancers start in the exocrine cells. Mostly, colorectal cancer starts in glandular cells, which make mucus and digestive fluids. These cells line the inside of the colon and rectum. This type of cancer is called adenocarcinoma of the colon and rectum. Changes in the cells of the colon and rectum can also cause precancerous conditions.

Epithelial tumors arise from the surface of the ovaries. Tumors start in the cells that yields the eggs are termed as germ cell tumors. They can either be benign or cancerous. Most are benign. Stromal tumors initiate in the cells that harvest the female hormones. Prostate cancer is usually a very slow growing cancer, with no symptoms until it is in a progressive stage. Most men with prostate cancer die of other causes, and many never know that they have the disease. But once prostate cancer begins to grow quickly or spreads outside the prostate, it is dangerous.

Oncology is the study of cancer. A doctor who specializes in treating people with cancer is called an oncologist. Usually, an oncologist manages care and treatment once a person is diagnosed with cancer.
There are three main types of oncologists are medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists.
Cancer is a chief burden of disease universally. Yearly, tens of millions of individuals are identified with cancer round the world, and more than half of the patients ultimately die from it. Cancer causes 1 in 8 deaths worldwide and is rapidly becoming a global disease. If rates don’t change, the global cancer burden is expected to rise up to 21.7 million cases and 13 million deaths by 2030.
Scope and Importance:
Based on the latest Health Facts 2013 released by Ministry of Health (MoH) Malaysia, cancer is one of the top ten causes of hospitalisation and one of the top five causes of death in both MoH and private hospitals. The salient truth is that cancer has overtaken hearth disease as the number one killer this year (2014).
Why in Malaysia?
In Malaysia, the incidence of cancer increased from 32,000 new cases in 2008 to about 37,000 in 2012. Mortality due to cancer stood at 20,100 deaths in 2008 and has increased to 21,700 deaths in 2012, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Globocan of the World Health Organisation (WHO). More than 50% of Malaysian Malay men smoke, more than 30% Malaysians are obese, yet we still do not take screening and prevention seriously.
The most frequent cancers among Malaysians are breast, colorectal and lung cancer, with one in 19 Malaysians developing breast cancer, one in 33 developing colorectal cancer and one in 40 developing lung cancer, according to the World Health Organisation’s Globocan 2008 report.
"In 2012, lung cancer contributed to 19.9 percent of all deaths caused by cancer in MOH hospitals throughout the country. "This number was followed by 9.6 percent for breast cancer, 8.7 percent for colorectal cancer, 7.3 percent for liver cancer and 6.8 percent for leukemia," he said when contacted.
